Good win in AHL1, despite concession of 2 late goals

The Senior A team played Lucan Sarsfields on Saturday 5 July in Glenalbyn. Despite the holiday season we had a strong team out, helped by Jack Doughan making himself available to play and the return of some of our American tourists.

Crokes got off to a fine start with early points from Barry O Rorke and Sean McGrath, to lay down a marker. With our backs well on top we pushed forward for more scores and led by four points before Lucan scored. James Burke and Ross O'Carroll scored while McGrath punished Lucan's indiscretions. The pick of the scores was a fine point by Barra O'Leidhin after some good work by Dillon Mulligan and Conor Clinton. At half time Crokes led by 0-11 to 0-02.

Crokes drove on for the first portion of the second half, to extend their lead to 12 points but then relaxed and let Lucan in for 2 quick goals to bring the visitors back into the game. However, fine points from Jack Doughan and Conor Clinton steadied the ship before Jude Sweeney closed out the game with the final point of the evening. Final Score Kilmacud Crokes 0-17, Lucan Sarsfields 2-05
