YOUR NEW FOOTBALL COMMITTEE IS UP AND RUNNING

In any organisation, change is inevitable, indeed healthy, and the Football Section in Kilmacud is no different.  There are hundreds of volunteers involved to different degrees in our large club.  The more active participants may be playing with a team or coaching/mentoring or fundraising or in administration.  There are plenty of opportunities for everyone regardless of age or amount of time available!

The club's Coiste Committee manages football and hurling affairs from Nursery up to 12 years of age.  Then, for practical purposes, football for 13 to 16 yr olds is managed by a Juvenile (Sub) Committee while Minor up to Senior falls under the stewardship of the main Football Committee.  This committee has an over-arching interest in all football matters throughout the club.  It includes officers and reps from the other 2 age groups to help with this wider remit.

At the Football Committee AGM on 23rd November last, John Shovlin took over as Chairman from Pat Lamb who had served a 4-year term.  Joan Hanratty replaced Mick Carolan as Secretary and there were other changes also.  Pat Horgan is the new Chair of the Juvenile Committee with Eamonn Keating as Secretary.  Martin Byrne co-ordinates U6-U12 football activities while Tony O'Shaughnessy continues as Secretary of Coiste.  Details can be found under "Club Info" at any time or by clicking on this link.  We thank them all for their unselfish commitment and wish them well with their extremely busy schedules in 2012!
