NO REST FOR SOME CROKERS - ITS SIGERSON WEEK!!

There continue to be very strong links between UCD and Kilmacud Crokes which is not surprising since the college is practically in "the parish". Here are just a few: back in 1974/5, Dr. Pat Duggan featured at full-forward on Eugene Magee's All Irl Club winning team. Sligo's John Murphy, a brother of current Crokes Chairman, Tom, captained UCD in the late 1970s from the goalkeeper position. Several other Kilmacud members have been involved with UCD teams over the years. Some of today's links are highlighted in the attached Sigerson promotional picture featuring our senior players Cian O'Sullivan and Craig Dias .... don't they look well (Paul Galvin had better watch out!).
Crokes players feature with the other Dublin colleges also so there will be a huge interest in the big Centenary Sigerson competition taking place in Belfield this week - see fixtures here (final at 2.15pm on Saturday 5th). As late as today, Colm O'Rourke re-iterated his view that a Sigerson medal means at least as much to him as his Meath All Irl football medals from 1987/8, that's how important this competition is to the players! You can view prompt video highlights from Belfield, courtesy of Jerome Quinn, every day at this link ..... enjoy!
