Leinster League Points for Seniors
Crokes picked up two Leinster League points against Blackwater of Wexford on Tuesday 29th March 2011 in a “home” game played at Bray Emmets. Our thanks to the local club for allowing the use of their facilities.
The evening threatened to rain but never quite did. However, the dankness at times seemed to affect players visibility under lights. After ten minutes Crokes were 0-3 to 0-2 ahead, thanks to good long range point taking. The Stillorgan men gained the upper hand for the remainder of the first thirty minutes and forged 0-9 to 0-3 clear. Despite scoring first after the restart Crokes loosened their grip and with ten minutes remaining the lead was much eroded at 0-12 to 0-10. A scoring blitz, starting with an excellent point from Shane O’Rorke and quickly followed by goals from Barry Mulligan and Kevin O'Loughlin, eased the nerves and saw foireann Kilmacud home by 2-13 to 0-11. Among the more impressive performers were Shane O’Rorke, Jude Sweeny, Sean McGrath, James Burke and Dillon Mulligan.
