GREAT WIN IN SFC - NOW FOR THE SEMI ON SUNDAY NEXT!

Impossible conditions provided the main opposition to both St. Sylvesters and Kilmacud Crokes senior footballers in Parnell Park tonight. A low-scoring contest saw the teams off at the break with a mere 3 points each and at the full-time whistle this had only improved slightly with the Crokes lads victorious on a 1-6 to 0-6 scoreline.
The crucial score came in the 6th minute of the 2nd half from the impressive young Paul Mannion, following a long free into the goalmouth and a subsequent scramble. At the other end, the OCarroll brothers were quite superb - no hurling final hangover there! Rory in particular was simply awesome: he provided an exhibition of all thats best in full-back play, leading from the front, reading the flight of the ball expertly and very sound in his handling of the slippy ball - tremendous display! Next up is the semi-final against St. Brigids who came from 5 points down in the last quarter to overcome Templeogue in the preceding Quarter Final.
