SWEENEYS MEN MAKE NO MISTAKE AGAINST LUSK IN IFC
Body

In a good week for senior football in the club, the Kilmacud Intermediate championship team had a comfortable win in the IFC Losers Group on Wednesday last against Round Towers (L). The game, played in Clonshaugh, finished on a scoreline of 1-16 to 2-4. Kevin O'Cearbhaill contributed a handsome 8 points in a fine individual performance while Stephen Williams chipped in with a goal and a point. The Crokes led at the break by 1-7 to 1-2 before outscoring the Lusk men by 0-9 to 1-2 in the second half. Its always encouraging when all of the forwards score as happened on this occasion. Unfortunately, we won't get a chance to see the boys in championship action again until mid July - over 10 weeks of a break - when they will take on one of the 2nd round losers (tbc). It cant be easy to get real momentum going in such a scenario but, hopefully, the lads will be ready on the day. Well done to John Sweeney, his selectors and to the full squad!
